Nathan maintains a busy performance and teaching schedule. His playing in jazz ensembles, funk groups, brass bands, commercial groups and the afro-fusion group Beasts of No Nation has brought him to acclaimed clubs, festivals around the state and features on KUVO Jazz Radio and WestWorld Magazine.

Outside of gigs he has taught music at the Academy of Advance Learning to K-8th graders for 4+ years, coaches middle and high school saxophone sections and runs his own private lesson studio. He is a passionate teacher and skilled communicator who seeks to help musicians of any level grow in their craft.

Nathan grew up in Longmont Colorado, and was raised in a home full of music. He took to the saxophone at age ten and later attended The University of Northern Colorado.

Here he earned his Bachelors in Saxophone Performance, with a focus in Jazz Performance. He has studied with some of the best teachers and players in the country and played with one of the nations top big bands, UNC Lab 1. He won a Down Beat award with Lab 1, played with Beb-bop royalty Sheila Jordan, Latin Jazz legend Bobby Sanabria, former Julius Hemphill band member Alex Harding, composer Graham Reynolds, ECM recording artist Art Lande and many more world class players. His playing and compositions take inspiration from the entire spectrum of Black American Music.
